“Incredible at what she does!”

“It's hard to put into words just how amazing Jo was as the celebrant for our wedding. She was so so amazing at how she captured the details of our story and relayed that into a beautiful ceremony.

We gave Jo the brief of having a relaxed, fun ceremony whilst still telling our love story and she absolutely delivered. She truly has a talent to tell love stories. We have had so many guests compliment us on just how great she was. We cannot recommend Jo enough! Incredible at what she does!”

Frequently Asked Questions

Do we have to get married at a government registry office?

Not at all! In Australia, a Commonwealth Registered Celebrant can legally marry you anywhere. Whether it’s a local Geelong brewery, a quiet park, or your own kitchen table, we can make it happen. I am based in Point Lonsdale and am happy to meet wherever is easiest for you.

How much notice do we need for a legals-only wedding?

By law, you must lodge your Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) at least one month before your signing date. I will help you fill this out and lodge it digitally to start your mandatory 30-day waiting period immediately.

What are the bare minimum legal requirements?

To get legally married in Australia, we only need to do three things: say the short mandatory legal vows required by the Marriage Act, sign the marriage certificates, and ensure two witnesses over the age of 18 are present to sign with us. The entire process takes under 10 minutes.

What identification documents do we need to provide?

I will need to see evidence of your date and place of birth (such as a valid Passport or your official Birth Certificate) along with photo ID (like a Driver’s Licence). If either of you has been married before, I'll also need to see the official divorce or certificate of termination.

Do we need to bring our own witnesses?

Yes, Australian law requires two witnesses over the age of 18. However, if you are planning a complete surprise or a secret elopement, don't worry—let me know in advance and I can often help source witnesses for your signing.

What happens after we sign the papers?

Once the ink is dry, you are legally wed! I handle the behind-the-scenes administration and securely lodge your legal paperwork with Births, Deaths, and Marriages Victoria within two weeks so your marriage is registered correctly.
